About Monica Abbott

Monica Abbott is one of the most accomplished pitchers in the history of softball and a two-time Olympic medalist with the United States Women’s National Softball Team, helping Team USA earn silver medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Known for her dominant left-handed pitching and competitive intensity, Monica spent more than a decade competing at the highest levels of international and professional softball.

She first rose to national prominence at the University of Tennessee, where she became one of the most decorated pitchers in NCAA history. During her collegiate career, Monica set multiple NCAA records — including career wins and strikeouts — while leading Tennessee to several Women’s College World Series appearances and earning National Player of the Year honors.

Following college, Monica continued her historic career in professional softball both in the United States and internationally. She made headlines by signing the first million-dollar contract in professional softball while playing in Japan and remained one of the most recognizable and respected athletes in the sport throughout her career.
