About Taylor Shumaker

Taylor Shumaker is a sophomore outfielder for the Florida Gators and one of the most exciting young hitters in collegiate softball. Standing 6-foot and hailing from Fullerton, California, Taylor made an immediate impact in her freshman season, starting every game and quickly establishing herself as a cornerstone of the Gators’ lineup.

During her freshman campaign, Taylor led Florida in home runs, RBI, runs, doubles, total bases, and slugging percentage while batting .389. Her performance earned her national recognition, including NFCA National Freshman of the Year (unanimous selection), NFCA First Team All-American honors, All-SEC First Team, and multiple All-Region and All-American distinctions.

Taylor’s season was not only elite — it was historic. She tied Florida’s single-season records for home runs (22) and RBI (86), recorded five multi-home run games, and became the first freshman in program history to earn NFCA First Team All-American honors.
